Terms of Service

The agreement between you and VoxelWave Studio OÜ covering this website and our game. Written to be read, not to be skipped.

Effective 23 September 2026 · Version 1.0 · English (controlling version)

Plain-language summary, which is not a substitute for the terms below: this website is ours and you are welcome to read it. When our game is released you get a personal licence to play it, not ownership of it. You buy it through a store such as Steam, so refunds go through that store. We do not take away rights the law gives you as a consumer.

1. Who we are

This website and the game Arventus: The Frontier Village are operated by VoxelWave Studio OÜ ("Voxelwave", "we", "us", "our"), a private limited company (osaühing) registered in Estonia under registry code 17417678.

You can reach us at contact@voxelwavestudio.com. Full contact details are in section 19.

2. What these terms cover

These terms are an agreement between you and Voxelwave. They cover two things:

  • This website at voxelwavestudio.com, including everything published on it.
  • Our game, once it is released — the software, its updates, and any related material we make available.

The game sections (5 to 9, and 14 to 15) apply from the moment the game is first made available to the public. Until then they describe the terms that will apply; nothing in them implies the game is available now.

By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the website. When the game is released, installing or playing it will also mean you accept them.

3. Using this website

You may read, link to, and share this website freely. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link back.

You agree not to:

  • use the website in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or to any server or network connected to it;
  • interfere with its operation, including by overloading it or introducing malicious code;
  • scrape or copy it wholesale, or reproduce substantial parts of it as your own;
  • use our name, logo or brand in a way that suggests we endorse you when we do not.

4. Our intellectual property

All content on this website and in the game — software, source code, art, models, animation, music, sound, text, characters, world and story material, the Voxelwave and Arventus names, and our logos — is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law.

Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of it to you. Rights we do not expressly grant are reserved.

Press and media may use screenshots, trailers and logos from any press kit we publish, for the purpose of reporting on or reviewing the game, without asking us first. Anything beyond that needs our written permission.

5. Licence to play the game

When the game is released and you obtain it lawfully, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play it for your own private entertainment. You are buying a licence to play, not ownership of the game.

Unless the law expressly gives you the right to do so regardless of this agreement, you may not:

  • copy, distribute, rent, lend, sell or sublicense the game;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or try to extract its source code or assets;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or ownership notice;
  • use the game, or anything extracted from it, commercially without our written permission;
  • use cheats, automation or modified clients in a way that harms other players or our services.

Mods and creative work

We like mods and fan work. Non-commercial mods, fan art, fan fiction, videos and streams are welcome, including monetised videos and streams on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. If we publish separate mod or content guidelines, those will apply alongside these terms.

6. Distribution platforms

The game is distributed through third-party stores and platforms, such as Steam. Those platforms run their own accounts, payments, downloads, refunds and support, under their own terms and privacy policies, which you accept separately with them.

We do not operate those platforms and are not responsible for them — including their payment processing, account access, availability, or any change they make to their own rules. If a platform issue affects your ability to buy or play the game, it has to be resolved with that platform.

7. Purchases, refunds and cancellation

You buy the game from the platform, not from us. Refunds, cancellations and payment disputes are handled under that platform’s policy, and we have no ability to process them directly.

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA

You normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, that right can be lost once download or streaming has begun, where you asked for immediate delivery and acknowledged that you would lose the right. Storefronts handle this in their checkout, and many offer a refund policy more generous than the law requires. Nothing in these terms removes a statutory right you have as a consumer.

8. Early Access

If the game is offered in Early Access, or as a demo or beta, it is by definition unfinished. It may contain defects, incomplete features, placeholder content and balance problems, and your saved games may not carry forward between versions.

Buy an Early Access build on the basis of what it is today, not on what we plan to add. We publish our intentions honestly, but a roadmap is a plan, not a promise, and features may change, be delayed or be dropped. We do not guarantee that Early Access will lead to a full release.

9. Updates and changes to the game

We may update, change, add to or remove parts of the game at our discretion, including to fix defects, improve performance, or adjust balance and content. Some updates may be required in order to keep playing.

We may also stop supporting a particular version, platform or feature. Where a change is significant and we can reasonably tell you in advance, we will.

10. Feedback and community content

If you send us feedback, bug reports, suggestions or ideas, you allow us to use them without restriction, without owing you payment, credit or confidentiality. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential or want to keep control of.

This does not affect your ownership of anything you create yourself, such as videos, art or mods.

11. Availability and system requirements

We do not guarantee that this website or the game will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend either for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

If something in the game is broken, write to support@voxelwavestudio.com. We cannot process refunds or reach your store account, but a defect is ours to fix and we would rather hear about it.

We publish system requirements as a guide. Performance depends on your hardware, drivers, operating system and other software, and we cannot guarantee the game will run correctly on every configuration. Please check the requirements before buying.

12. Disclaimers

Except where the law says otherwise, this website and the game are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In particular we do not warrant that they will be free of defects, meet your expectations, or operate without interruption.

This does not cut down your consumer rights. If you are a consumer, you have legal guarantees about the quality and conformity of digital content that we cannot exclude, and this section applies only so far as the law allows.

13. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law permits:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or opportunity, or loss or corruption of data;
  • we are not liable for damage to hardware or software except where it results from our negligence;
  • our total liability arising out of or in connection with the game is limited to the amount you paid for it.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, and this section is read subject to your statutory rights.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your licence to the game if you materially breach these terms, in particular sections 3 or 5. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

If your licence ends, you must stop using the game and delete the copies you hold. Sections 4, 10, 12, 13 and 18 survive termination.

You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the game and no longer using this website.

15. Content advisory

Arventus is a game about frontier life, trade, guilds and conflict. It contains depictions of violence, crime, and the consequences of both, including systems in which characters can be harmed or killed. Age ratings, where they apply in your territory, are shown on the store page.

Please use your own judgement about whether the game is suitable for you, and supervise use by children in your care.

16. Links to other sites

This website links to sites we do not control, such as storefronts and social platforms. We provide those links for convenience. We are not responsible for their content, their practices, or what happens to you on them.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we release the game, add a service, or when the law changes. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its effective date at the top.

If a change materially affects your rights, we will give reasonable notice — on this website and, where the change concerns the game, through the store page or the game itself. Continuing to use the website or the game after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Estonian law, and the courts of Estonia have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.

We would much rather resolve a problem directly, so please write to us first. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
